Defense and Martyrs’ Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm across Pakistan

Pakistani forces defeated the enemy with the help of the nation. On the occasion of Defense and Martyrs' Day, the Prime Minister also greeted the martyrs and invaders of the Pakistan Army

Defense Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm across the Pakistan today. The day started with a salute of 31 cannons in the federal capital Islamabad while 21 cannons were saluted in the provincial capitals. On the occasion of Pakistan Defense Day, a guard change ceremony was organized by Pakistan Air Force at Mazar-e-Quaid.

Naval officers, chief petty officers, sailors and families of martyrs attended the function. The 1965 war was a shining chapter in national history, a shocking defeat for the enemy and a new history of bravery. Special ceremonies will be held at Naval Headquarters Islamabad and all Naval, Air Bases and Cantonments to commemorate the September War in which tributes will be paid to the martyrs.

Defense equipment will also be displayed on the occasion. The purpose of Defense and Martyrs’ Day is to pay homage to the martyrs and conquerors and to express the determination to defend the motherland in all dangers. On this very day in 1965, Indian troops crossed the international border in the dark of night to attack Pakistan, but the nation thwarted the nefarious intentions of the enemy.

In the 1965 war, the grandchildren of the homeland not only gritted the teeth of the enemy on the ground, but also made history in the skies, which is still shining in golden letters. Special preparations for Defense Day have been completed on the 56th anniversary of the 1965 war. The main function of Defense Day will be held at General Headquarters Rawalpindi to which Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa will address.

The families of the martyrs will also attend the ceremony. President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan also issued messages on the occasion of Defense and Martyrs Day. President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan Army with the help of the entire nation defeated the enemy on every front. In his message on the occasion of Defense and Martyrs Day, President Dr. Arif Alvi said that Defense Day is a symbol of courage, bravery and dedication to patriotism.

The Pakistani forces bravely thwarted the enemy’s intentions. He said that the Pakistan Army with the help of the entire nation defeated the enemy on all fronts while the officers and men sacrificed their lives for the defense of the homeland. The President said that he paid tribute to the families of the martyrs for their courage. The armed forces and security agencies have successfully overcome the challenges facing the country.

Dr. Arif Alvi said that Pakistan is fully aware of all the changes taking place around it and we will never back down from our principled stand on occupied Kashmir.

“We stand with the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination,” he said. While Prime Minister Imran Khan said that living nations go through trials and become stronger, in 1965 the Pakistani nation stood firm against the enemy like a strong rock. PM Imran Khan in his message on Defense Day said that on September 6, India imposed undeclared war on Pakistan, the whole nation stood up, many people walked towards the border unarmed, the brave forces proved the homeland. Always ready for safety, our young men fought bravely without caring for their lives.

“September 6 is a day to pay tribute to the martyrs and conquerors of the armed forces. Our martyrs and conquerors have always been the hope and pride of the nation,” he said. Imran Khan said that the security of the homeland, the nation salutes those who sacrificed their lives, the enemy has never shown peaceful coexistence, the enemy has imposed many wars since the establishment of Pakistan.

The enemy is propagating in Pakistan through sabotage operations and cyber warfare. Unfortunately, India continued to use Afghan territory for instability and terrorist activities in Pakistan.

Today we condemn those who use these heinous tactics. The United Nations should hold India accountable for this aggressive behavior. We are proud that our security forces have taken timely action to expose the true face of India to the world. The world has come to know how it is trying to undermine peace in the region and Pakistan in particular.

He said that due to the effective foreign policy of our government, the international community has now come to know how the Indian government is inflicting atrocities on minorities all over India and Muslims in occupied Kashmir. The only way to peace is to resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions. India will sooner or later have to give Kashmiris their right to vote.

We will continue to expose the extremist face of India to the world. Reputable circles of the international community are acknowledging our efforts for peace. Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that on this occasion, I would like to make it clear once again that our desire for peace is not our weakness at all. It should not be understood. For the prosperity and betterment of the people of this region, the answer should be given in the same positive manner.

Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that today I would like to send a message to our brave Armed Forces that we have come a long way in strengthening our defense and making it invincible by showing solidarity. And the strong-armed forces have repeatedly proven that we are not only capable of defending the homeland. On the contrary, they are always ready to deal with any kind of aggression.
