The Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Made a Conditional Offer of Amnesty to the TTP

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that if the TTP promises not to be involved in terrorism and recognizes the constitution of Pakistan, then Pakistan is ready to consider pardoning them.

Ocean News Updates – Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s statement came a few days after an interview given by President Arif Ali to Pakistan’s private channel Dawn News.

In his interview, President Arif Alvi had said that the government may consider giving amnesty to those members of the banned TTP who surrender and recognize the Pakistani constitution and are not involved in crimes.

Now Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also offered a conditional pardon for the banned TTP in an interview.

He said that if Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) promises not to be involved in terrorism and recognizes the constitution of Pakistan, then Pakistan is ready to consider pardoning them.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said he was concerned about reports of TTP prisoners being released from Afghan jails, but welcomed the Taliban’s announcement that its territory would not be used against any country, including Pakistan.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that we kept pointing out the whereabouts of the banned TTP to the Ashraf Ghani government but they did not take any action. Now we are seeing what action the Taliban take against them.
